Agnes Veronika
Veress
May 29, 1954 – November 25, 2019
Agnes Veronika Veress, 65, of Morrisonville, NY passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019 at CVPH in Plattsburgh, surrounded by the love of her family.
Agi, was an extraordinary woman with the most amazing heart, known for her exceptional kindness and ability to love. Through her tumultuous upbringing during the Hungarian revolution, and then paving her own life's path in NYC, to later raising her family in the Adirondacks, she did so with outstanding grace, beauty, and strength.
Agi was born in Budapest, Hungary. She was raised by her grandmother (Dedi), when her parents had to flee the country during this time of communist rule and unrest. She had fond memories of growing up surrounded by the love of her cousins, Vera and Istvan Tenk. She immigrated to the United States in 1971, as a teenager, where she attended a boarding school in Buffalo, NY. After graduation, she moved to NYC to be reunited with her mother. There she attended NYU, studying finance, while working for Citibank.
She was active in the Hungarian community, where she met and married her husband of 41 years, Dr. Frank Veress. She raised two children, Ors and Csilla Veress. Agi's pride and joy recently was to be a grandmother to Allison and Tamen Veress, daughter and son of Ors and Courtney Veress, as well as other grandson, Sawyer Veress. She was forever young in her exuberance of life, always being a support and a beacon of light for her friends and family. She wore many hats, managing a private medical office, working in sales, and in finance. She always in her heart and foremost, an incredible mother and wife.
She still has great family ties locally, in Hungarian, and in Australia, where her father had to flee during the Hungarian revolution. She is remembered and loved by many people she has met through her life, and has amazing close friendships that she has cherished.
