MOOERS FORKS – Anna Marie Shackett, née Morehouse, went to meet the Lord on March 11, 2025.  She was 81 at the time of her death.  Anna was born in a farmhouse in Hartford, NY on December 31, 1943 to Carlos and Eloise (Brayton) Morehouse and grew up on a farm in Argyle, NY.  She was a devoted wife and mother who raised three sons on a dairy farm and never asked for anything for herself.

Anna stood less than five feet tall, but in her prime she could do the work of two grown men if the situation warranted.  In her elder years she was an avid golf fan who enjoyed watching the major tournaments on TV and once had the opportunity to attend the National Tournament at Congressional Country Club in person.  She also loved jigsaw puzzles, and was proud of the fact that she was able to keep her own house right up until a short time before her death.

Anna is survived by her son, Stanton and daughter-in-law Amanda; son, Jon; son, Scott and daughter-in-law Carrie; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.   She is also survived by her brothers Francis, Harry, and Richard, and her sisters Mary and Elsie.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanton Barnes Shackett, her parents, brother Charles and sister Julia.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.
