Obituary

SARANAC — Anne "Gammer" L. Brousseau was born on the Seventh Month of the Eleventh Day of '42. She   passed on May 6, 2020 at Bayfront Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida surrounded by husband Jon Brousseau, her granddaughter Megan and her husband Justin Thomas.

Anne came to this world into the loving arms of Bernard and Laura Smart. "Mima" and "Papa" loved her dearly. She was raised in a loving family who imparted the values of the Catholic Church, which she held most dear. She lived her life according to her Christian ideals and is a shining example of Ephesians 4:32 – "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ".

Anne fell in love with a GI, Harold Waldron, and started a family of her own.   In her early twenties, Anne was devastated when her first love was declared dead on his way to his next combat mission in Vietnam. Always a strong woman, she summoned extraordinary strength to move on.   With help from her family, friends, God and the church; she moved forward.

Gammer was blessed by the arrival of her granddaughter Megan. Anne and her future husband Jon were eternally bound by their connection to this amazing child. Anne's bond to Jon grew to a wonderful marriage. Since that time Anne and Jon have lived happily together and after retirement, they made the most of it. Camping, Cruises, Canning; Anne lived her life! When she was not working in her garden, she was playing with her dogs Genny and Bailey. She was also an extraordinary cook who showed her love through her food.   Yet, before any feast was over, she'd think of tomorrow and the stock needed for the next meal. Ever thoughtless, kind, and willing to do the next right thing; these are the memories that those closest will cherish.

Anne is survived by her loving husband Jon, four daughters; Jacqueline, Sheila, Marybeth and Bobbi Jo, granddaughters Megan and husband Dr. Justin Thomas, Payton Soucia and two grandsons Dylan Taylor & Logan Stewart. Three sisters Louise Tedford, Angela Taylor, Pauline Smart; two brothers Lawrence and Wayne Smart. Her father and mother in law; James & Patricia Brousseau along with two brothers in law; Steve and Dave Brousseau and sister in law Kathy Atkinson. She will be deeply missed by all those that knew her including special friends Susan Vann and Ann LaFountain.

Anne was predeceased by her parents, her first husband Harold Waldron, and her brother Donald Smart.

Due to the pandemic services will be held at a later date.
