PLATTSBURGH – Annette Marie (Hogue) Whiteman, 85, of Nevada Oval, Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, at her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Plattsburgh on October 7, 1940, to John and Lucienne (Pharand) Hogue, Annette was the third daughter of four. She attended St. Patrick’s Elementary School in Rouses Point, St. Mary’s High School in Champlain, and SUNY Plattsburgh.
Annette married Airman Robert “Bob” F. Whiteman, Sr. in St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point, on April 15, 1961. A faithful Air Force wife, she raised three children while traveling to many Air Force duty stations, both in the United States and abroad, until Bob retired in 1979. She began supporting her family in 1973, taking employment at the Base Exchange on Davis-Monthan AFB; a real estate office in Tucson, AZ; a Coors distributorship in Albuquerque, NM; as an accountant for Shelburne Museum in VT; and a Customer Account Representative at Vermont Federal Bank in Williston. Annette retired as a Loan Officer for Caswell Credit Union in South Burlington after many years there.
Annette was a member of the Sodality Catholic Women of the Chapel, Marriage Enrichment, and the Shelburne Museum. She volunteered for many ministries within churches while in NM, VT and NY. She was a member of a ministry team holding Sunday services at South Burlington Correction Facility. Annette enjoyed homemaking, gardening, knitting, crocheting, crosswords and jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Whiteman, Sr.; daughter Robyn (John) Little of Essex Junction, VT; sons Robert Whiteman, Jr. of Farmington, NM and Scott (Kelley) Whiteman of Fairfax, VT; grandchildren Shawna (Little) Bevins, Ryan Little, Hannah Little, Kaitlinn Little, Kagan Whiteman, and Steven Whiteman; 3 great-grandchildren, several cousins in the US and Canada, nieces and nephews.
Annette was predeceased by her parents; sisters Claire Reid of Peru, NY; Helene Bushey Van Amerongen of Milton, FL; and Madeleine Rabideau of Plattsburgh, NY.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 2:00pm at Cornerstone Community Church located at 26 Bombardier Road in Milton, VT.
