DANNEMORA – Anthony "Tony" Mitchell, 71, of Bouck St., passed away Friday, June 3, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Plattsburgh on December 14, 1950 the son of Donald and Dora (Miner) Mitchell.

Tony graduated from Dannemora High School and Clinton Community College. He married the former Rita Bolia on June 17,1972.

He retired from Clinton Correctional Facility. Tony enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, daily weather report on Facebook.

Survivors include his wife Rita of Dannemora; his sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew and Michelle Mitchell of Peru, Donald and Erin Mitchell of Plattsburgh, Aaron and Allison Mitchell of Dannemora; brothers and sisters-in-law, Patrick and Lee Mitchell of Chazy Lake, John and Maureen Mitchell of Plattsburgh; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann and Winston Lawliss of Dannemora, Tina and Tom Oddi of Watertown; grandchildren, Ashley, Amara, Gavyn, Zoee, Adelynn, Gwenyth, Kassidy, Grayson, Elliott Mae; several nieces and nephews.

Tony was predeceased by his parents, his brother Donald Mitchell and sister-in-law Catherine Mitchell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 12:00 pm at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Burial will be private in the parish cemetery at a later date.
