Obituary

PLATTSBURGH – Arthur E. Rock, 90, formerly of Seneca Drive, passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility.

He was born in Plattsburgh on July 22, 1930 the son of Clarence and Gladys (Brunell) Rock.

Arthur graduated from St. John's High School, after graduation he enlisted into the US Navy, serving his country from 1950 to 1954. He returned home and attended Plattsburgh Business Institute. He worked many years as a bookkeeper for V.S. Jerry and Sons and worked as a bookkeeper for James Carter at Snug Harbor.

Arthur married Helen Poissant on August 11, 1956.

He was a member of the Elk's Club and enjoyed riding motorcycles, going to spending time with family, hunting camp, and gardening.  Arthur was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather he was very generous and caring, always willing to help others. He loved to spend time with his family and traveling to beautiful places.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Stephanie R. Rabideau and her husband Robert P. of Plattsburgh and Faith E.R. Carter and her husband Larry M. of Plattsburgh; brothers and sister-in-law, Joseph Rock San Diego, CA, Clarence and Carole Rock of West Chazy; a sister Shirley Bousquet of Plattsburgh; three grandchildren Jerad R. Rabideau and his wife Jamie, Caitlin A. Rabideau and Cole A. Carter; one great-grandson, Jacob Rabideau; and several nieces and nephews.

Arthur was predeceased by his parents, his wife Helen, sisters Gloria Long and Claire Rock, brother Lawrence Rock and sister-in-law Rita Rock.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 17 th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19 face covering and social distancing will be required.
