WEST CHAZY – Audrey L. Traynor, 100, passed away October 24, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was just three days shy of her 101st birthday.

Audrey was born October 27, 1923 to Fred and Mamie (Pombrio) Trombly. She graduated from D'Youville Academy and Plattsburgh. Following graduation, she worked as an operator for New York Telephone.

In 1944, Audrey married the love of her life, Dwayne L. Traynor. When he founded his business, D.L. Traynor Refrigeration, Audrey actively supported by working as secretary and office manager until Dwayne's passing in 1987.

She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy and the Altar Rosary Society. Audrey volunteered as the director of the West Chazy Youth Commission and at Dodge Library, West Chazy Library.

Audrey is survived by her four children: Craig (Karen) Traynor of Rochester, MN; Joan (Michael) Materna of South Burlington, VT; Cindy (Tony) Edwards of Mooers Forks, NY; and Jan (Russell) MacDonnell of North Palm Beach, FL. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Kyle (Lisa) Traynor, Kimberly (Dana) Foster, Kathryn (Joseph) Rezabek, Graig (Jessica) Materna, Brooke (John) Guillaume, Blake (Christina) Edwards, Brandon (Hannah) Edwards, and Emily Scerbo, as well as 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Audrey was predeceased by her brother, Russell Trombly; her sisters, Hazel Burnell, Mildred Carpentier, Ruby Arbenger, and Betty Pavone; and their spouses.

Donations in her memory may be made to St. Joseph's Church Altar Rosary Society. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 3rd, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 4th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, West Chazy. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
