PLATTSBURGH – Barbara Bird, 78, of Lynn Avenue, passed away, December 28, 2021 surrounded by her loving family, due to complications from COVID-19.

She was born in Plattsburgh on September 15, 1943, daughter of Robert and Louise (Beshaw) Bouyea.

Barbara owned and operated Birdie's Clip-N-Curl Salon in Plattsburgh for over 30 years until her retirement.  She was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed watching various football and hockey games, especially alongside her brother-in-law Jim.

Above all else, Barbara's love of her family and friends will forever be remembered by those who knew her.

Survivors include her daughters, Jamie Bromley, Julie Bird, and Nicole Wood and her husband Robin;  grandchildren, Deirdre Bird and fiancée Timothy Hill and Tyler Wood;  sisters, Donna (Eric) Phelps, Sue (Carl) Aiken, Kathy McCall-Jacobs, and Sheri McCall;  brother-in-law, Jim Jacobs;  and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Gary Bird.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
