PLATTSBURGH– Barbara Gilman, 84, of Bailey Avenue, passed away, October 7, 2025 with her loving family by her side.

She was born on September 12, 1941, daughter of Julius and Leah Giroux.

Barbara worked for numerous years at Agway on Boynton Avenue.  She loved to help customers and care for all the plants and vegetation.

Survivors include her sisters, Linda House, Helen (Robert) Ethier, and Judy (Mike) Allen;  sister-in-law, Betty Giroux;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents;  husband, Ronald Gilman, Sr.;  son, Ronald Gilman, Jr.;  daughter, Cathy L. Gilman;  brothers, Herbert (Doris) Giroux, Alfred (Eleanor) Giroux, Donald (Dorothy) Giroux, James (Augustine) Giroux, Robert (Sandy) Giroux and Alvin Giroux;  and sisters, Doris Richards and Bernice (Thomas) McTernan.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh.  Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Third Age Adult Day Center at SUNY Plattsburgh.
