PLATTSBURGH – Our beautiful Barbara J. Hurd, passed away on May 4, 2022 after a lengthy battle with dementia.

She was born in Plattsburgh on August 9, 1941 the daughter of Robert and Lois (Gray) Walker.

She was the most loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Barb and her husband, Phil would have celebrated their 50 ^th wedding Anniversary on July 1, 2022.

Barbara was a grade school teacher for 1 ^st and 2 ^nd grades for over 38 years. She loved teaching and her students loved her back. One of her 2 ^nd grade students was Glenda who is now one of her wonderful nurses at Clinton County Nursing Home. Barb is survived by her loving husband, Phil, and their daughter, Dr. Kristen Hurd, her husband, Adam Ameele and their children, Ethan and Naomi; brother, John Walker and his wife, Vicki and their children and brother-in-law, Robert S. Hurd, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie.

We wish to close with our eternal gratitude and appreciation of the Clinton County Nursing Home, including those who had to leave during the covid out break. We have never known such a loving and sympathetic group as those at CCNH. They without exception, have always given care with tenderness and respect.
