Obituary

Barbara E. (Curry) Miner, 67, of Morrisonville, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Barbara was born in Plattsburgh on September 6th, 1957, the daughter of Francis and Shirley (Anagnos) Curry. From a young age, Barbara's strength, independence, and fierce determination set her apart. She was a woman who lived life on her own terms, with a heart full of love for anyone lucky enough to know her.

Barbara most recently worked at Walmart, where she was not only a dedicated employee but also a loyal friend for her coworkers and a constant source of support.

She had a passion for life and a playful, competitive streak—especially when it came to games like cornhole, which she loved playing with her closest friends. Her love for dancing and music was known well, and she never passed up an opportunity to sing along to a favorite song or sway to a good beat.

Barbara found peace in nature and joy in the little things—gardening in the sun, casting a line while fishing, the thrill of hunting, or simply enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. She was a talented decorator and took pride in making holidays magical for her family, often filling her home with warmth, laughter, and the unmistakable charm of her beloved gnomes. She loved to shop, but even more, she loved giving—always thinking of others and delighting in finding the perfect gift for someone she cared about.

She is survived by her devoted children: Christina Bushey, Cindy Parker and companion David, and Shannon (Mikey) Burnham. Her caring mother, Shirley Curry. She also leaves behind her loving siblings: Debbie (Dennis) Rollier, Carol (Andre) Zamfir, Tina LaValley and companion Jim, and Francis (Heather) Curry Jr. Barbara was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who were the absolute light of her life. She also leaves behind her life partner of over twenty years, Loren LaBombard, with whom she shared countless memories and unconditional love.  Along with her two dogs, Silverado and Cherokee.

Barbara was predeceased by her father, Francis Curry Sr., whom she loved dearly.

Those who knew Barbara will remember her for her strength, her laughter, and the love she gave so freely. She lived with passion and conviction, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where loved ones will gather to share memories and honor the beautiful life she lived.
