It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend Barbara J. Seymour on August 4, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Bowling Green, KY. Barbara was born in Ossining, NY on May 22, 1945, the daughter of Eugene and Florence (Plane) Lefebvre.
Barb spent her youth in Ossining New York where she graduated from Ossining High School. Going on to complete cosmetology school, Barb worked as a hairdresser for more than 30 years. It was in Ossining, that Barb met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Seymour in 1965. On August 7, 1966, they were married. During their fifty-seven years together, they had two daughters and were blessed with four grandchildren.
In addition to being a committed mother, wife, and hairdresser, Barb’s faith was an important part of her life, and she devoted much of her time to participating in and helping with various church activities. She found joy in serving others and being part of her church community. Barb was also a talented and creative woman who enjoyed sewing, painting, and crafting. Through her creativity, she brough beauty and warmth into the lives of those around her. Barb loved to travel and treasured the experiences, places, and memories she made along the way.
Above all, Barbara treasured her family. Barb will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Sarah Giovagnoli and husband Mark of Enfield, NH and Jeanne Seymour of Bowling Green, KY; four grandchildren, Joshua Patnode of South Burlington, VT; Noah Patnode and his wife LaKysha of South Burlington, VT; Makenzie Seymour of Bowling Green, KY; Seth Seymour-Neill of Essex, VT; one sister Marilyn Ryan of Albany, NY; one brother-in-law David Bullett of Bluffton, SC; sister-in-law Nancy Racette and her husband Charles of Plattsburgh, NY; several nieces and nephews; as well as by the many friends whose lives she touched.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Florence; husband, Robert; and sister Jaclyn Bullett of Bluffton, SC.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville, NY on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 11:00am with Rev. Scott Seymour officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Chazy.
