Obituary

KEESEVILLE – Benjamin Levasseur, 49, of Route 22, passed away unexpectedly July 24, 2023.

He was born on May 20, 1974, son of Dennis and Bonnie Levasseur.

Ben attended Clinton Community College and SUNY Plattsburgh where he graduated with a Bachelor's of Science Degree.

He previously worked at Clinton County Nursing Home, Meadowbrook, CVPH, Bombardier, and had also wrote code for the Burlington International Airport.

He loved spending time with his family and having family gatherings.  Ben enjoyed playing chess, cribbage and card games with his children, and telling stories to his grandchildren.  He cherished the time with his wife Carrie and also enjoyed movie nights and loved to cook.

Ben had a large heart with a passionate sense of humor, always cracking a joke to get someone to smile.  He was always willing to lend a hand to NAMI:CV (National Alliance for Mental Illness, Champlain Valley) and anyone he heard who needed support in a way that he could provide.

Survivors include his loving wife Carrie Ann Levasseur;  sons, Joshua (Irene) Levasseur and William (Mary) Levasseur;  daughter, Ashley Levasseur (Justin Collins);  mother, Bonnie Hynson;  brother, Fred Levasseur;  sister-in-law, Janet Levasseur (Mike);  grandchildren, Benjamin, Ameila, Raymond, and Tobias Levasseur;  nieces, Jessica Levasseur and Victoria Benson;  and nephews, Cody Levasseur, Christopher Benson, and Joseph Shepard.

Ben was predeceased by his father-in-law, Raymond Shepard and step-father, Samuel Hynson.

Donations in his memory may be made to the National Alliance for Mental Illness, Champlain Valley (NAMI:CV).

A Celebration of Ben's Life will be held on Saturday, August 5th at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church Social Hall on Beekman Street in Plattsburgh.
