PLATTSBURGH- Bertha T. Parrott passed away May 9, 2020 at Elizabethtown Community Hospital at the age of 95. She was born January 14th 1925 to Homer and Della (Buskey) LaBier in Mooers, New York moving to Plattsburgh, New York at the age of 5 with her family and attended school at the D'youville Academy. Bertha was a parishioner of Saint Peter's Church.
Bertha worked for the A.H. Marshall family attending to their children and home. A.H. Marshall and Company was a hardware store in the 1900s in Plattsburgh which is currently the Ashley Home Store. As time progressed Bertha worked at FW Woolworth and MH Fishmans department stores and in time PAL Blade Company on Durkee Street.
On a July Fourth holiday she met her husband Harold T Parrott of Chazy, New York they married on November 25th, 1944 and moved into a small apartment near St. Peter's Church. Bertha worked at Beekmantown Central School as a cashier 1962 through 1969. In 1969 through 1975 she owned and operated Ernie's grocery store later becoming the Corner Grocery on upper Rugar Street in Plattsburgh.
Bertha is survived by three daughters Carol Mooso and her spouse Greg Mooso of Destin Florida; Brenda Mussaw of Pensacola, Florida; Pamela Esposito and her spouse Anthony Esposito of Morrisonville; two grandsons; Juddiah (Kim) Mooso, Travis "TJ" (Jennifer) Mussaw; six granddaughters; Cherrise (Joe) Ream, Brandy (BrandyLee) Mussaw, Elizabeth Esposito, Antonia (Luke) Blair, Sarahdella (Eric) Rousia, and Autumn Esposito; seven great grandchildren; Kyleigh Mooso, Jayden Mooso, Joshua Ream, Caitlyn Ream, Tyler Mussaw, Silas Blair, and Lincoln Blair.
Bertha is survived by one sister in law, Vivian LaBier of Plattsburgh, New York, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Harold T. Parrott, her parents Homer and Della (Buskey) LaBier, brothers Leeward LaBier of Hague, Virginia, Roger LaBier of Lawrenceville, New York, Harold LaBier of Plattsburgh, and one sister Beatrice Howard of Plattsburgh.
Due to recent health events, a private funeral service will be held for the family. Burial will be at St. Peters Cemetery in Plattsburgh at a later date.
