Betty Ann
Tedford
June 29, 1928 – April 23, 2021
SARANAC– Betty Ann Tedford, 92, formerly of McCutcheon Lane, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021.
She was born in Cadyville on June 29, 1928 the daughter of Stewart and Ruth (Bedell) Tedford.
Betty was employed by Grand Union in Plattsburgh for 25 years.
Betty enjoyed her family most in life! She travelled as far west as Iowa and south to North Carolina to vacation with Keith, Vicki, Bryan and Shawn. She cared for Amy many days when Gary and Eileen were busy working at the Hi-Falls Lounge. Betty was a pillar at the many Clam Bakes in August yearly, making gallons and gallons of clam chowder. Likewise, at the family holiday gatherings she was the one who always made the homemade breads and pies. Most recently, she had enjoyed the visits from her great-grandsons at the Senior Housing where she lived.
She would be sure to have homemade banana muffins ready for them and for anyone else who visited.
Betty loved food! Pizza from anywhere, fish from Price Chopper, cake donuts from anywhere, and her absolute favorite was McSweeney's bacon cheeseburger with fresh cut french fries, extra crispy. She enjoyed the sun while in her lawn chair and always had the best tan. Betty was the matriarch of the Tedford family and her void will never be filled. Her two sons were the reason she worked so hard as a single parent to give them the best upbringing in life. We will miss her often "curt words" but she always spoke her mind and lived her life the way she chose to live.
Survivors include two sons, Gary and Eileen Tedford and Keith and Vicki Tedford all of Saranac; two brothers, George Tedford of Gainsville, FL and Stewart and Blanche Tedford of Saranac; grandchildren, Hope Goble, Amy Favaro, Bryan Tedford and Shawn Tedford; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, 2 sisters and 6 brothers.
Services will be held Friday, June 18, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Saranac United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Saranac Independence Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Saranac United Methodist Church where Betty was a member for over 60 years.
