Obituary

Bryan K. Cross, 61, of Cadyville, passed away on May 14, 2026, at his home, with his loving family by his side, after an extremely courageous fight against cancer.

He was born in Plattsburgh on October 8, 1964, the son of Gerald and Violet (King) Cross.

Bryan graduated from Northern Adirondack Central School. He retired from Clinton Correctional Facilityin 2022 after 25 years of service as a Corrections Officer. After his retirement, he spent his Thursdays operating “Papa’s Daycare”. He was a past member of the Dannemora Fire Department, serving for 25 years.

Survivors include his son, Evan; daughter, Hailea (Mark) Eggleston; his granddaughters, Kelsey and Lexi; as well as several brothers, sisters, nieces,nephews, and extended family. He is also survived by his special “grand pup”, Bentley, affectionately known as “Papa's Boy”.

He was predeceased by his parents, Violet and Gerald.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bryan’s caregivers, “Tess” and Sierra, his medical providers, Dr. Alissa Thomas and Dr. Katrina Ducis, and the exceptional staff at Fanny Allen, whom Bryan adored. The support, care, and love provided was exceptional, and he loved you all so.

Per Bryan’s request, there will be no public calling hours. There will be a celebration of life in the future, and he requests that you all come and have a “pork chop in a can” in his honor.

Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country or the Hope Lodge in Burlington, Vermont.
