August 1, 1943 – April 6, 2022
PERU, NY – Carl J. Duford, 78, of Holden Avenue, passed away peacefully April 6, 2022.
He was born on August 1, 1943, son of Edward and Alma (Burnett) Duford.
Carl enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1962 and retired in 1986 after serving his country for over 23 years. During this time Carl earned numerous metals, including the Military Bronze Star for Valor.
Following his career with the Air Force, Carl worked for over 20 years as a security officer for Immigration Services in Champlain.
Survivors include his loving wife Lois Duford; his children, David C. Duford, Michelle Ellis, and Carla (Joseph) Shonyo; brother, Edward Duford; grandchildren, Brent Ellis, Camden Ellis, Kyden Christopher, Daniel McKee, Lilyana Inglis, Jayden Hunter-Duford and Gabriel Shonyo; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Carl was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Dennis Duford and Daniel Duford.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be in God's Acre Cemetery in Peru.
