Obituary

Carol C. Carpenter, 59, Plattsburgh, NY went home to be with Jesus on August 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 2, 1967, daughter of Mahlon and Jeanette (Myers) Covey.

Carol married the love of her life Steven L. Carpenter on June 28, 1991, and were blessed to have 35 years together.

Carol devoted her life to her family and friends and worked with Steven in the family business including SLC Enterprise Properties, Liquor and Wine Warehouse, 4-Seasons Plaza, Econo Lodge Inn & Suites, and 4-Seasons Storage.

Carol served her community organizing the Make-A-Wish Foundation for 30 years and serving as a Board Member for the CVPH Foundation, where she was a member of the Stepping Out For Your Heart Committee. She was an avid golfer, bowler, Montreal Canadians Hockey Fan and Airbourne Speedway Fan. She loved going to the casino and playing & winning on the Dancing Bears game. She enjoyed family vacations and being with friends.

Carol is survived by her husband, Steven, daughter Katelyn (Bradley), son David (Peyton), her grandchildren, Vivienne, Blake and Theodore. Her siblings Beth (Timothy), Stanton, John (Tina) Covey, and Mary (Dennis) Fowler. Her in-laws Lawrence (Jeff) Lori Carpenter, Tammy (Carpenter) Duquette, Scott (Jody) Carpenter, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Carol is pre-deceased by her father, Mahlon Covey, her sister Kim Chamberlain, in-laws Lawrence and Marjorie Carpenter, brother-in-law, Daniel Duquette, her grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.

A heartfelt thank you for the excellent care provided by her nieces Mary Elizabeth Fowler- Besaw and Mackenzie Carpenter, family friend Nicole Ormsby, HCR Home Care and all the Medical Staff at UVM- CVPH Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 10:00am at St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh. Committal prayers will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Celebration of Life details will be announced at the church.

In lieu of flower donations, friends and family may make donations to Make-A-Wish Foundation Northeast, Fitzpatrick Cancer Center or CVPH Foundation.
