PLATTSBURGH – Carol Hackett, 80, of Set Point, passed away, May 9, 2026. She was born in Plattsburgh on September 3, 1945, daughter of Phillip and Elizabeth (Roberts) Hart.

Carol graduated from Plattsburgh State University with her Masters in education. She went on to teach at Beekmantown Central School until her retirement after 35 years of teaching. Carol was active within her community and served as a scout and on the Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts of America, served on the Student Government at Plattsburgh State University, a member of the NYS Teacher’s Association, and was a member of St. Augustine’s Church in Peru where she also participated in the choir.

Survivors include her two sons, Chris Hackett and his companion Eliza Selig and Thomas Hackett; her sister, Jane Ann Oshier; grandchildren, Lukas Selig, Maya Hackett, and Aidan Castle Hackett; and six nieces and nephews.

Carol was predeceased by her parents and brother, Phillip Hart, Jr.

A time to share stories and condolences with Carol’s family will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
