A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. in

the NEW St. Joseph's Cemetery in Dannemora

CADYVILLE – Carolyn A. Provost, 78, formerly of General Leroy Manor Road and most recently from Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on November 22, 1947, daughter of James and Betsy (Couture) Ryan.

Carolyn married Ronald Provost on May 4, 1968.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and sister, who always put her family first.  During her early years, Carolyn spent her time caring for her three boys.  Once they were grown up and out of the family home, she went to work at CVES in Plattsburgh as a teacher's aide for many years.

Carolyn enjoyed shopping trips and eating out with her family.  She was gentle soul who cared for all those around her and never asked for anything.  Her addictive smile and infectious giggle will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate to know her.

Survivors include her loving sons, Ronald (Tara) Provost, William "Billy" Provost;  and Michael Provost;  her sister, Rose Mary Miller and her husband Roy;  brothers, James Ryan, Mike Ryan and his wife Angela; and John (Nikki) Ryan;  sister-in-law, Jackie Ryan;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was predeceased by her husband Ronald;  brother, Patrick Ryan, Sr., and sister-in-law, Joanne Ryan.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville.  A funeral mass will follow at 12:00 p.m.

Burial will take place in the spring in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Dannemora.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
