PLATTSBURGH – Catherine M. Little 95, of the Vilas Home passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022.  She was born in Jericho NY April 14, 1926 the daughter of Alfred and Leona (Trudo) Vaughan. An amazing lady left this world to join all her loved ones that have gone before her. She was funny, a little spitfire and had no filter so whatever entered her head came out of her mouth. She loved her family.  When talking to her she often said "I love all of my children." We were glad to hear that!

Mom was a woman of any facets.  She was strong minded/willed, gentle, funny, and fiercely private.  She never liked being in the spot light.  She worked hard behind the scenes to raise her family.  She guided and encourage each child in whatever endeavor they chose.  She was our biggest cheerleader.

Mom never left us wondering what she meant whether for a reprimand or a praise.  We liked the praise best!  She had 11 children and took on 2 more in a blended family and later in life she and Gordie raised 2 grandchildren.  She became Grandma to many youngsters under her care.  She worked the election day poles for many years.  She was a volunteer with the church for events including the Harvest dinners and bereavement committee.  One of her favorite jobs was working in the Kitchen at Ronnie's Michigans in her 80's.  Summers were her favorite time of year and she could be found sitting in the River Room watching the birds and wildlife on the riverbank. She looked forward to the annual camping trips to Coles Creek where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She was strong right to the very end giving us orders but mostly letting us know how much she loved us all.  She touched many lives in her 95 years and will be missed by us and so many more.

She is survived by one sister, Dorothy Trevor of Virginia and one brother, John Vaughan of South Carolina and 12 children; Stephen (Jim) Baker (Sandi Melick), Michael Baker (Freddie Villegas), Rodney Baker (Patti Sorrell), Sharon Pavone (Galen Pavone), Dale Baker (Judy Connell), Diane Wright (Roger Wright), Dana Baker, Gregory Baker (Leslie Ashe), Barbara DeMaio (Christopher DeMaio), Gordon Little, Jr. (Lisa Capece), Bruce Baker. Kirk Little (Laurie Bruce). She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.  She is predeceased by her husband of 43 years Gordie Little, son and daughter-in-law Gary and Kimberly Baker, three grandchildren, Brock Wright, Anthony Dominic, and Conrad Baker.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:30 am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville NY. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Services will be live streamed on St. Alexander's Church Facebook page.
