Obituary

PLATTSBURGH – Charles E. Currier, known by family and friends as "Chuck", passed away, Saturday, February 9, 2019 at his residence in Plattsburgh, surrounded by his loving family and amazing caregivers.

He was born in Northfield, VT, on June 6, 1933, the son of Eugene and Blanche (Bresette) Currier.

Chuck graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1951 after attending St. Johns and then entered the United States Air Force where he served from 1951-1955.

Chuck co-founded, with Dulcie Sherman, Adirondack Security Systems and Twinstate Technologies in Morrisonville which celebrated its 50th anniversary this year.

He enjoyed friends, family, laughter and Saturday morning cartoons. He would often be the life of the party and keep the jokes rolling while entertaining the many visitors. He liked luxury and hot cars having Lincolns, Cadillacs and Dodge Chargers, among others. Route 374 was his favorite test strip. His love for his family and friends was evident with the sparkle in his eyes when they would visit.

Chuck always thought of others, starting the Christmas Family fund at Twinstate as well as adopting families in need, such as those going through a fire.

He was a veteran of the Air Force and a life member of the VFW Post #125 and the American Legion Post #20, a member of the Plattsburgh Elks Lodge, AM Vets, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Brick Layers, the New York State Telephone Workers Association, the Communications Works of America, the North American Telephone Association, and past president of the New York State Interconnect Telephone Association.

Survivors include his wife, Etta "Toots" Currier of Plattsburgh; son, Clark Currier and his wife Jodi of Saranac; daughters, Dawn Juneau and husband Kevin of Plattsburgh and Devi Momot and husband Peter of Plattsburgh; stepson, Edward Dukett of Plattsburgh; sister, Constance "Connie" Quinn and husband Charles Robert of Avon Park, FL; grandchildren, Joelle Currier, Ryan Collins, Chelsea Currier, Ashton Momot, Charles "Ethan" Currier and Alissa Momot and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, and five siblings, Phyllis (Pete) Sutton, Wilford Currier, Waneta (Lewis) Montani, Sandra (Aubrey) Smith, and Paul Currier.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville.

Donations in his memory may be made to Cumberland Head Fire Department, the Dulcie V Sherman Nursing Scholarship at Clinton Community College or anything that is a local humanitarian cause.
