Christine M. Wood
October 28, 1950 - April 9th, 2022
Christine's (Chris, Teenie) earthly journey ended with her children by her side at the Lakewood Ranch Hospice House, Bradenton, Fla. Christine's journey to Heaven was beautifully poetic. We were able to witness the love of God as he prepared to take her home in the most magnificent way. Christine was born Oct. 28, 1950, to Oliver and Delima (Trombley) Wood in Plattsburgh, N.Y.
There are many things Christine enjoyed here on earth. Spending time with her family, Labatts Blue, popcorn, Wavy Lays potato chips, spaghetti, hamburgers, Payday, the edges of brownies, to name a few, oh and of course reading, drawing and watching her grandchildren play in many different sports. Christine was a very special, caring, forgiving, kind, selfless person with an undeniable ability to make people laugh. As she said often, "I ain't right."
Christine is survived by her brother Tommy (Joyce) Wood of Peru, N.Y., her daughter Shana (Danny) Collins of Sarasota, Fla., sons, Calvin (Marci) Hamel of Cadyville, N.Y., and Neil (Michelle) Hamel of Saranac, N.Y., her five grandchildren, Briana, Nikalas, Nathan, Leah and Nolan. Her very dear friends Gary and Kathy Hamel, as well as several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Christine is predeceased by both her parents, her brother Charles "Chuck" Wood and her granddaughter Anna Grace Hamel.
Funeral services will be held May 10th, 2022, 12 p.m., at Assumption of Mary in Redford, N.Y. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
