Obituary

PLATTSBURGH – Clarence "Junior" Coryea, 85, of Wildwood Estates, passed away, December 15, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on February 12, 1933 in Jerusalem, NY, the son of Lucille (LaGoy) and Clarence Coryea, Sr.

Junior attended Ellenburg Central School and later entered the United States Air Force where he served his country during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1955.

He married the former Janet Kellas on November 23, 1957 at the United Methodist Church in Isle La Motte, VT.

Junior worked as a Correctional Officer at the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, retiring after 28 years of service.

He was an outdoor enthusiast and loved to go hunting and trout fishing. Junior also enjoyed going bowling and especially spending time with his loving family.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Janet Coryea of Plattsburgh; daughter, Megan Korth and husband Michael of Peru; brother, Richard Coryea and wife Thelma of Addison, NY; sisters-in-law, Joy Paul of Weeki Wachee, FL and Sandy Reynolds and husband Ron of Chateaugay; grandchildren, Kaysha and Brooklynn; and several nieces and nephews.

The family also wishes to recgonize a very special friend, Mark Drown. In addition, Junior spent many memorable mornings with his Coffee Crew at McDonald's and Wendy's Quick Stop in Chateaugay.

Junior was predeceased by an infant brother, Robert; sister, Heloise LaPoint; brother, Roy Coryea; sister Joann Manley and husband Jim; and brother-in-law, Bob Paul.

A special Thank You is extended to Dr. Webber, Dr. Acostamadiedo, the staff at the FCC, and the staff on R5 at CVPH for the compassionate care Junior received.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Donations in his memory may be made to the North Country Mission of Hope or the North Country Honor Flight.
