Clayetta Claire Gonyo, 77, of West Chazy, NY passed away peacefully on, February 20, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y, October 17, 1946, daughter of the late Doris (Owens) Ryan. With her late husband John who she married March 23, 1963, they owned and operated C.G. Leasing and Gonyo Trucking, until their

retirement in 2001. They became snowbirds residing in Florida during the cold months in the North Country, and traveling in their motor home and vacationing all across the country until John passed in December 2014. After John's passing, Clayetta found solace moving back to West Chazy to be surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Clayetta was survived by three daughters, Julie (Glen) Winterbottom of West Chazy, Jody (Michael) Brunell of Plattsburgh, Janeen (James) Anderson of West Chazy; her grandchildren, Justin Anderson and his finance (Meagan), Sarah (Eric) Bell, Danielle (John) Thew, Adam Deno and Olivia Winterbottom and her finance (Donovan) and her great-grandchildren, Hannah and Hunter Thew of West Chazy, Callen and Cassidy Bell, and Valon Wolff all of Plattsburgh and Devin Brunell, Ellenburg Center and Rylan Deso, Rouses Point and her grand fur baby "Bison" who protected her to the end and her dear friend Marie Miele of Florida who checked in often. We are all grateful and blessed to know of her love and how much she loved us back. She would always say she didn't have favorites but we know who we are….always a

standing joke with her daughters…

Clayetta was survived by her Aunt Sharon Raisch of Peru, two sisters, Doris Leazott, Lolly Steffen both of Plattsburgh and her brother Orville Ryan of West Chazy. She was also survived by two sister-in-laws; Theresa (George) Vichot of Littleton, Colo. and Ruth Gonyo of Mesquite, Nev. and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband John and her Mother Doris, she was predeceased by her sister Jean Stone and brother-in-laws Clayton Stone and Arthur Leazott and Arthur Gonyo and sister-in-laws Tina Ryan and Catherine Watson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 2, 2024 with an entombment at Plattsburgh Community Mausoleum. At her request, there will be a tribute to Clayetta's life with family gathering at a later date. She very much preferred warm weather and a barbeque.
