Matott
April 13, 1941 – February 17, 2023
Clifford Alfred Matott, of Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2023, at UVM Medical Center-CVPH with his loving family by his side. Cliff was born in Willsboro, NY on April 13, 1941, the son of Raymond Sr. and Evelyn (Corrow).
After graduating from Plattsburgh High School, he worked at Woods Floor Covering as a carpet installer for 15 years and then transitioned to working at Arpak Plastics as a foreman for 27 years. During this period, he served in the Vermont Air National Guard as a Food Service Technician and faithfully served our country for 30+ years until his Honorable Discharge as a Technical Sergeant in 1993. For the past 17 years Cliff ended up working for the Advocacy and Resource Center as a Bus Monitor until his passing.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Veronica (Poquette), his sons Kevin and wife Penny, Keith and wife Lori and Kendall and wife Morgan Harvey. He is also survived by three grandchildren, granddaughter Kelsey Sebert and husband Kyle, grandson Brandon Matott and companion Kaylah Myers, granddaughter Kaylee Matott, two great-grandchildren Clara Barnard and Jackson Barnard and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Raymond Jr.
Cliff's greatest joy was his family and working with the clients at ARC. He also enjoyed following the New York Yankees, Montreal Canadiens, and NY Giants. He was also an active parishioner at St. Peters Parish and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 255 serving as Grand Knight for five years. He had a big and warm heart and outgoing personality that touched a lot of people, and he will be missed by all.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 4-7pm at R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on February 23, 2023, at St. Peters Church in Plattsburgh, NY, with reception to follow at St. Peters Church. Burial will be held in the spring at St. Peters Cemetery in Plattsburgh, NY.
In Lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to the Clinton County Advocacy and Resource Center Special Olympics.
