PLATTSBURGH- Daniel W. Stockdale, 74, of Chenango Road, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the CVPH Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 14, 1947, the son of Lucien and Lois (Wood) Stockdale.

Daniel graduated from St. John's Academy and later Clinton Community College, the first graduating class.

He served in the United States Army from 1966-1968.

Daniel married Linda Downs in 1974 at St. Agatha's Church in Canastota, NY.

He retired from Plattsburgh State University, working as an accountant.

Daniel was a member of the Adirondack Wanderers Volksport Club and the VFW Post #1466.

Daniel loved going to the casino, gourmet cooking for his family and his precious little dog, Loulynn.

Survivors include sisters, Beverly and Thomas Batterson, Angela and Robert St. John, Nila Vanderveer; mother-in-law, Evelyn Downs; brothers-in-law, Louis Downs, Tom and Tres Downs; sister-in-law, Dawn Smith and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Linda Stockdale; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wallace and Kay, James and Brenda, Francis and Donna and Larry Stockdale and sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Kenneth Creedon.

There will be no public calling hours or funeral services.

Burial will be at a later date in the spring.
