Obituary

PLATTSBURGH- David J. Pombrio, 90, of Lake Forest, Plattsburgh, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024 at his home.

He was born on February 24, 1934 in Plattsburgh the son of Oral and Blanche (Laravie) Pombrio.

David attended Canton Agricultural and Technical College. He owned and operated Pombrio's Service specializing in electrical and plumbing.

He married his first wife Marian Baker on September 25, 1954 at St. Peter's Church, after the death of his wife he married Madeleine Laramie on July 13, 2002 also at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, she passed away in 2017.

David was a member of St. Peter's Church and the Knights of Columbus in Plattsburgh. He enjoyed working on puzzles and playing word games with friends.

Survivors include his sons, John (Donna) Pombrio of Mystic, CT, James (Lisa) Pombrio of Middlesex, NJ; daughters, Patricia (Luke) Dyer of Buffalo, NY, Susan Pombrio of Plattsburgh; brother, Philip Pombrio, Sr. of Hawaii; grandchildren, Sara (Danny) Wallace, Mark (Amanda) Dyer, Amee (John) Dougherty, Mary (Michael) Woodberry, Adam (Samantha) Dyer, Isabella Pombrio, Yani Pombrio, Kristina Pombrio, Stacia Pombrio; 9 great-grandchildren; step-daughter Cindy (James) Evans; step-grandchildren Kimberly and Lauren Evans; 5 nieces and 3 nephews.

David was predeceased by his first and second wife, a son Richard Pombrio, and step-granddaughter Kaitlin Evans.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 20th from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 21st at 10:00am St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh.

Donations may be made to the Holy Cross Soup Kitchen.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh, NY.
