CHAZY- Diane M. Thibault, 73, of Fiske Road, passed away March 16, 2023.
She was born in Sciota on August 31, 1949 the daughter of Loyal and Pauline (Morrison) Baker.
On November 18, 1967 she married the love of her life, Orphir "Andy" Thibault.
In 1974 she and Andy welcomed the "light of their lives," son, Orphir "Andrew" II.
Diane graduated from Chazy Central Rural School in 1968.
She was employed by the US Postal Service retiring after 24 years of service.
Diane was an active member of the Chazy Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary; Sacred Heart Altar Rosary, Lector and Board Member; Cub Scout Mother; member and Treasurer of Boy Scouts Troop 39; Plattsburgh Mother's Club; and Chazy Public Library.
She loved to travel, going to Europe, visiting 5 countries, East and West Berlin, to Israel, 5 Canadian Provinces and 28 beautiful American States.
Diane and Andy were named King and Queen of Chazy Old Home Day in 2006.
Her passion's were her husband, son and family. She loved reading, cooking and being with her cat's, Charcoal and Smokey who are now with her son.
She is survived by her son, and daughter-in-law, Andrew Thibault and Michelle Powers; sister, Pamela (Jody) Manor; sisters-in-law, Patricia Brown; Eva (Bob) Gricoski; Doris "Tootie" (Bill) Rankin; 10 nephews, 3 nieces; 4 grandnieces and 4 grandnephews.
Diane was predeceased by her parents; husband, Orphir Thibault; sister, Donna (Dennis) Montgomery; In-laws, Orphir (Dorothy) Thibault, Grant (Lois) Thibault and Gerry Brown.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Hospice of the North Country for the loving care they provided to Diane, especially Heather, Ashley, and Katie.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22 nd from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will take place at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Chazy.
Memorial donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Research Foundation or the St. John Feral Fund.
