PLATTSBURGH- Donald P. Maggy, 76, of Glen Dr., Plattsburgh and formerly of Redford, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at CVPH Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Plattsburgh on July 2, 1947 the son of Peter and Rose (Pellerin) Maggy.

He attended MAI in Plattsburgh, Don was a New York State Correction Officer, retiring after 34 years at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora.

Don married Jill Lashway in Plattsburgh on September 30, 1989.  He belonged to the Rangers Hunting Club and the White Birch Hunting Club, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, horseshoes, camping and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his wife, Jill Maggy; sons, Paul and Corinna Maggy, Jason and Shay Maggy; daughter Heather Maggy, Anissa and RJ Miller; brother Thomas and Vicky Maggy; sisters Jean and Gilbert Myers, Millie and Dale Darrah; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Don was predeceased by his parents, three brothers Gary, Peter and Lawrence.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A wake service will be held at 3:00pm.

Donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital in memory of Don.
