September 17, 1949 – February 24, 2023
WEST CHAZY- Donald J. Miner, 73, of the Military Turnpike, West Chazy, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023 at CVPH Medical Center.
He was born in Plattsburgh on September 17, 1949 the son of Clarence and Margaret (Trombley) Miner.
Donald was a graduate of Beekmantown High School in 1968 and Career Academy. He served in the Marine Corp during Vietnam Conflict.
He married the former Janet Duprey in 1973 at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy.
Donald was a Life member of the VFW. An avid Yankee's and Giants fan.
He worked at Harris Graphics for 15 years, then worked at several different careers in the Plattsburgh area, retiring from Mold-Rite in Plattsburgh.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Clarence R. Miner, Carl Miner, Ricky Miner, Ronald Miner and sister Mary Burke, brother-in-law Brian Chauvin.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Miner of West Chazy; son Craig (Barbara) Miner of Morrisonville; daughter Jody (Arthur) Cross of Westport; brothers Randy Miner, Rodney Miner; sisters Carolyn Chauvin, Cathy Miner; sister-in-law Dawn Miner; brothers-in-law Gary Duprey, Bradley Duprey, James Duprey, Laurence Duprey, Ronald Duprey; grandchild Gillian Miner; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Monday, February 27, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Burial will be in the spring in the parish cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, in memory of Donald.
