PLATTSBURGH – Donald F. Rose, 86, of Pear St., Plattsburgh, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

He was born in Bennington VT, on February 13, 1936 the son of Karl and Blanche (Stratton) Rose. He attended school in Bennington VT, later moving to Mechanicville, NY and finishing high school there.

Donald served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1958.

Donald retired from General Electric in Schenectady. He belonged to the American Legion in Stillwater, NY, where he was a past Post Commander for 5 years. After moving to Plattsburgh, he became a member of the American Legion Post #20 and is a current member of West Plattsburgh American Legion Post #1619.

Donald married Nancy Mangum in Plattsburgh on March 1, 1975.

Survivors include his wife Nancy of Plattsburgh; sons, Mark E. Rose of Plattsburgh, Jason and Amber (Brown) Rose of Plattsburgh; daughter Pamela C. George of Saratoga; brothers William and Sherry Rose of Valley Jo, CA, Gerald and Mary Jean Rose of Saratoga; grandchildren Christian Pogue, Aimee Pogue-Ferguson, Morrison Santiago, Ronin Rose, Lucian Rose, Melanie Lincoln; two great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews.

Donald was predeceased by his parents, Karl and Blanche, a sister Beverley J. Barber and brother Henry Rose.

Calling hours will be held Monday, June 27, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the R. Walker Funeral Home, with the Post # 1619 providing a wake service at 4:00 pm.  Burial will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
