PLATTSBURGH - Dorothy A. Giroux, 89, formerly of South Peru Street, passed away on November 3, 2022.

She was born September 3, 1933 the daughter of Peter and Nellie (Nephew) Burdo.

Dorothy married Donald Giroux on July 18, 1955 at Holy Angels Church in Altona. Donald passed away on November 21, 1998.

She worked at Plattsburgh State University in the Dining Hall, retiring after 30 years of service.

Dorothy enjoyed spending time eating out with friends, playing pinochle at the Senior Center every Thursday, dancing and traveling.

Survivors include her son, Donald (Rosalind) Giroux; daughter, Sheryl (Gerald) Moore; brother, Homer Burdo; sisters, Lillian Cayea, Bertha Forette, and Edna McCabe;  five grandchildren, Michael (Laura) Giroux, Kenneth (Tiffany) Giroux, Tori (Michael) Madejczyk, Brendan Moore, and Liam Moore; eight great-grandchildren;  and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents;  husband, Donald;  son, Ronald E. Giroux;  and siblings, Clifford Burdo and Irene Trombley.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 8 ^th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Victory Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery
