Obituary

PLATTSBURGH - Earl (Bud) David Mahon of Plattsburgh, NY and former long-time resident of Chelmsford, MA, passed away peacefully at his home on August 23, 2024. He was the beloved husband of June (Betts) for the past 28 years and the late Sarah (Wilson) Mahon for 40 years.

Born in Watertown, NY he was the son of the late Earl and Norma Mahon. He grew up in Watertown before moving to Massachusetts in 1955. Throughout his life he had a passion for trains and had an impressive working train display that he loved sharing. He enjoyed driving his motor home to Old Orchard Beach, spending winters at Avalon RV park in Florida and summers with his Plattsburgh friends at Fienberg park in NY.

Bud was a proud veteran of the Navy (Korean War). He was employed as an automobile embosser at Goodall Sanford and as a Maintenance Manager for Jordan Marsh, BTU and Compugraphic before his retirement.

Besides his wife he is survived by his three stepchildren Karen (Jim) Johnson of New Hampshire, Mark (Kerry) of Maine, and Tim (Gail) of Vermont, brother Art (Martha) Mahon of Watertown, and sisters the late June Corey, Carolyn Stanford and Betty Bellanger. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grandchildren whom he adored.

A funeral service will be held Saturday August 31, 2024 at 1:30pm at R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh, NY
