Edelgard Kelly (Edda), of Morrisonville, NY, passed away on July 15, at CVPH in Plattsburgh, NY. Born in Germany, she emigrated to New York City in 1952 and returned to her home in Germany in 1955. There she met and married a U.S. Army soldier stationed at a nearby base, Gerard Kelly, Jr. (Jerry), and together they returned to the U.S. in 1958. After several moves, they settled in Morrisonville, NY in 1976 and have lived there since.

Edda was very active in the Plattsburgh Air Force Base Liaison Committee, making dried flower arrangements for the tables at many of the functions for visiting Air Force commanders and dignitaries. Edda will be most remembered, however, for her beautifully-arranged platters of homemade German Christmas cookies that she gave to friends, neighbors, and the staff at many of her service providers, such as doctor and dental offices, hairdressers, etc.

Edda is survived by her husband Jerry of 66 years, oldest son Gerard Kelly III (Jerry), cousin Heide King (husband George), and several relatives and extended family in Germany. She was pre-deceased by her youngest son Richard Kelly (Ronnie) in 2022.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home.

A Funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.
