Obituary

PLATTSBURGH– Edith B. Banker, 94, of Banker Road, passed away on March 18, 2024 at Elizabethtown Hospital.

She was born in St. Louis, MO on February 6, 1930 the daughter of Edgar and Jennie (Dale) Baseler.

Edith graduated from Wheaton College in 1952 with a BA in Music. She was a Music Teacher at Chazy Central Rural School for the Elementary and High School until her retirement.

She married Walter Banker on August 20, 1954 in St. Louis, MO. Walter passed away on June 23, 2015.

Edith was a member of the Turnpike Wesleyan Church and the Gideons Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son, Robert (Kim) Banker of Morrisonville; daughter, Rebecca Banker of Plattsburgh; brother-in-law, Robert Davison Banker of TX; sister, May Belle Stone of OR; grandchild, Nicolas Banker of Cadyville; 5 nieces and 3 nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband;  sisters-in-law, Eleanor Davis and Ruth Banker;  and brother-in-law, Francis Stone.

Edith's family will receive guests beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22nd at the Turnpike Wesleyan Church.  A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m.

A private burial will be in West Plattsburgh Union Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Turnpike Wesleyan Church Memorial Fund or Gideon's International.
