PLATTSBURGH – Edward Heuston passed away on November 18, 2021.  He was born on November 6, 1932 in Union City, New Jersey to Stewart and Edith Doyle Heuston.

After graduating from St. Peter's University in New Jersey, Edward received a Master's Degree in English Literature from Boston College and then earned a PhD in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Prior to joining the English Department at the SUNY Plattsburgh in 1968, Edward taught at Georgetown University and the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle.  During his tenure at SUNY Plattsburgh, Edward served as the Department Chair of the English Department.  He retired from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1996.

Edward is survived by his wife, Alix, their two sons and families: Owen, his wife Kathy, and their children Ava and Sean of Clarksville, Tennessee; and Matthew, his wife Heidi, and their son ManChun of Delmar, New York.  Also surviving is Edward's sister-in-law Barbara Heuston and her family in New Jersey, as well as a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hallberg, and her husband Richard of Jamesville, New York.  Edward was predeceased by his brother Thomas and his infant sister, Patricia.

There will be no calling hours, and a memorial mass will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Hospice of the North Country, the Plattsburgh Public Library, or Elmore SPCA.
