PLATTSBURGH – Elaine D. (LaPoint) LaTour, 78, of Truman Ave., Plattsburgh, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility.

She was born in Merrill NY on November 11, 1945 the daughter of Edward and Flora (LaClair) LaPoint.

Elaine married Albert LaTour on June 14, 1974 at the United Methodist Church in Plattsburgh.

Elaine was a waitress at Arnie's Restaurant for 44 years, if you ever had the honor of having her as your server you were always met with a smile and a joke or two.

In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards or heading to the Casino for a little gambling.

Survivors include her sisters, Judy Noreault of Westville, Jerraine Pulsifer of Plattsburgh; her brother, Dan (Brenda) LaPoint of Plattsburgh; companion Ronald Parmeter of Plattsburgh; stepson Cal (Pam) LaTour of CA; several nieces and nephews. Elaine was also survived by a dear friend, Joyce Conners and special aunt, Dorothy Merrill.

Elaine was predeceased by her parents; husband Albert; brother Donald LaPoint; stepdaughters Alice LaTour, Diane Penrose and Dina Blackman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 1, 2024 at 1:30pm at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery at a later date.
