Dupree
April 21, 1929 – March 30, 2020
PLATTSBURGH- Eleanor Mae Dupree, 90, formerly of the Spellman Road, passed away peacefully Monday March 30, 2020 at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility.
She was born in Ingraham on April 21, 1929 the daughter of Frank and Florence (Pickle) Rivers.
Eleanor married William Dupree on July 4, 1948 at the Church of the Nazarene in Plattsburgh.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene for 74 years and served as a Sunday School Teacher, was on the Church Missionary Council and a member of the Choir, and Gideon Auxillary. Eleanor was a favored waitress for the Royal Savage Inn and Arnies Restaurant. She loved to cook and was especially known for her pies and cakes.
Survivors include two sons, Dan (Deborah) Dupree and David (Nancy) Dupree; two daughters, Darlene (Chuck, Deceased) Weatherbee and Denise (John) McSweeney; brothers Ernest (Inge) Rivers and Kevin Rivers, and sister Lois Baker and sisters in law Marion Rivers, Betty Rivers and Carol (Joseph) Ashley; five grandchildren, Aaron (Rebecca) Dupree, Tyson (Darby) Dupree, Rebekah (Marc) Tidd, Dr. Jessica Weatherbee and Kristen (Thomas) Vezeau; five great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Trenton, and Alice Dupree, Josiah and Lydia Tidd and several nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 70 years, William Dupree, brothers, Frank, Charles and John Rivers, and sisters, Dorothea Thurber, Florence Beal, and Rebecca Beck.
Services will be private at this time, with a public memorial service at a later date.
Burial will be in Ingraham Cemetery in the spring.
Memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Nazarene, or to FitzPatrick Cancer Center.
