PLATTSBURGH – Elizabeth M. Scribner, 99, formerly of Flynn Avenue and Saranac Lake, passed away, January 22, 2022.

She was born in Saranac Lake on November 28, 1922, daughter of Benjamin and Alicia (Higginbotham) Gay.

Elizabeth graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1940.  She later went on to meet the love of her life Lynn Scribner and they married on August 3, 1946 in New York City.

Elizabeth was a dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family.  She spent numerous years caring for the family home. Whether baking, gardening or shoveling the driveway, Elizabeth was happy to provide for her family and friends.  In her later years, she enjoyed many conversations with friends at local restaurants, sharing good food and special memories.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara McCort and her husband Brian of Plattsburgh;  son-in-law, Jerry Ogg;  grandchildren, Becky Bush and her husband Jason, Brian Ogg, and Jeff Ogg and his wife Christy;  two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Mary;  and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Lynn in 1994;  her daughter, Virginia Ogg in 2021;  and her siblings, Benjamin Gay, Richard Gay, and Mabel Love.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 29 ^th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will take place in the spring in West Plattsburgh Union Cemetery in Morrisonville.
