Eric Scott
Quantock
January 15, 1964 – December 23, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of Eric S. Quantock of Plattsburgh, NY announce his passing on December 23, 2023 at age 59. He died at CVPH with his sons by his side after a battle with an aggressive form of cancer.
Eric was born on January 15, 1964 in Plattsburgh, NY, the youngest son of Maj. Earl Quantock, US Army, Ret. and Phyllis (Gilroy) Quantock.
He attended Mount Assumption Institute and graduated from Ausable Valley Central High School in 1982.
Dad was a Professional Class A Tractor Trailer Driver for over 30 years, retiring from Fed Ex in 2023. He logged innumerable hours of safe driving and drove over a million miles behind the wheel, during all hours of the day and night, under ideal and less than ideal road conditions. Dad was a quiet and gentle man. He'd help anyone in need and rarely asked for help in return.
Dad took fashion cues from no one. His signature everyday look was an untucked, unbuttoned dress shirt over a Harley T-shirt with blue jeans and cowboy boots. Dad enjoyed spending time with his family, owning countless pickup trucks throughout his lifetime, driving, riding his Harley and golfing.
Dad had his son's best interests at heart, he was present, involved and encouraged us to do our best. He was proud of the men we grew up to be. We will remember his smile as well as his love for family and friends. Dad gave us the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in us.
Eric is survived by his two children and their families: his oldest son, Ethan Erik Quantock of Plattsburgh, his wife Emilee (Collins) and their daughters Lillee and Lylah; his youngest son, Cody Erik Quantock of Roanoke, VA, his wife Abby (Palmerton), their son Miles and a baby due in June.
He is also survived by his uncle Neil Quantock and his wife Cinny, his cousin Lori Quantock Curtin, her husband Ed and their children Matt and Ryan, his cousin Julie Quantock Zeller, her husband Jim and their daughter Brook, his brother David Quantock, his wife Melissa and their children David Jr., Christopher and Heather, his brother Mark Quantock, his wife Becky and their children Shannon, Christian and Jordan.
He was predeceased by his parents, his grandparents Earl and Clara (Laporte) Quantock, Raymond and Viola (Blow) Gilroy and an infant brother Earl Quantock, Jr.
A special thank you to Aunt Jo for her care and compassion during dad's final days.
