PLATTSBURGH – Ernest "Ernie" Hebert, 93, passed away September 29, 2021.
He was born in Pittsbield, MA on March 22, 1928, son of Homer and Julia (Hoffman) Hebert, Jr.
Ernie worked as an assembler and packer at Champlain Valley Industries in Plattsburgh for 15 years and also in the Maintenance and Dietary Unit at CVPH for 14 years.
He married the former Elizabeth "Betty" Hebert. They were married for over 25 years before her passing on August 21, 2018.
Survivors include his sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Trombley and Angie LaDuke, along with numerous friends and confidants at Valhaven Home for Adults in Peru, where he has resided since 2015.
The family would also like to thank a special nephew Russell Nelson for being there for Ernie for past several years.
Ernie was predeceased by his wife Betty; sister, Julia Nelson and her husband Jack; and two brothers-in-law, Raymond Trombley and Walter LaDuke.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place in Divine Mercy Cemetery in Plattsburgh alongside his loving wife Betty.
Donations in Ernie's memory may be made to Valehaven Home for Adults in Peru.
