Ernest (Ernie) L. Powers, 68, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025 at CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburgh on March 3, 1957, the son of Norman and Lorraine (Parent) Powers.

Ernest proudly served the U.S Army from 1977 to 1983. He was a hard-working man who worked various jobs at Luck Brothers and Brunell Asphalt. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at the casino and was always ready for a meal at Olive Garden. Most of all, He enjoyed time spent with his family and grandkids.

Survivors include his children, Shannon Powers (Joey), Chelsea LaPorte (Austin), Brandon Powers, and Dylan Powers (Alisha); siblings, Larry Powers (Christine), John Powers (Becky), and Shirley Bossick (Bruce); grandchildren, Grayson, Adalyn, Aislynn, Autumn, Ava Mae, Cameron, Ava Marie, Maverick, Tatum, Brynn, Adalaya, Landon, Miah and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Jane McLean, Rusty Powers, Leon Powers, Rosie Delisle, Mary Dubrey and a grandson Kyren Powers.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at R.W. Walker Funeral Home. Burial will with full military honors will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
