SARANAC – Ethel Craig, 91, formerly of Hardscrabble Road, passed away, August 14, 2019 at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on June 29, 1928, the daughter of George and Irene (Bruce) Brunell.

Ethel worked as a receptionist for Dr. Gilbert Ganong for over 17 years until retiring in 1983.

She was a member of the Saranac United Methodist Church, the Saranac United Methodist Women, and the Saranac Senior Citizens.

Ethel is survived by her daughter, Deborah Herrick and her husband James of Cadyville; grandchildren, Heather Bouvia and her husband Chris of Cadyville and Melissa Vann of Saranac; great-grandchildren, Erica Bouvia, Cayden Bouvia, and Jacob Vann; sister-in-law, Enola Craig; her caregiver, Henry McDaniel; and several nieces and nephews.

Ethel was predeceased by her husband Carlton Craig; son, Ronald Craig; siblings, James Jacobs, Hazel Couture, and Beryl Caron and her husband Anthony; and caregiver, Howard Begor.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial following in Independence Cemetery in Saranac.
