Father Theodore "Ted" Crosby, age 55, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 in West Chazy, NY.

Friends may attend a Funeral Mass on Monday, March 16, 2026 10:00am at St. Francis Church in Phelps. Father Anthony Amato will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Phelps.

A Memorial Mass will be held for Father Ted on Friday, March 27, 2026 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy.  Bishop LaValley will be the principal celebrant, and Fr. Scott Seymour will be the homilist.  A reception will be held in the parish hall after the memorial Mass.  All are invited to attend.

It is requested that memorial donations be made in memory of Father Ted to the Potsdam Humane Society 17 Madrid Avenue Potsdam NY 13676.

Father Ted was born on March 12, 1970 in Clifton Springs, NY the son of the late Theodore and Margaret Maslyn Crosby. He graduated from Midlakes High School in 1988. He graduated from St. John Fisher College before entering the Wadhams Hall Seminary in Ogdensburg. Father Ted loved being a Priest and spent his priesthood in the North Country serving many Parishes including Lowville, Malone, Watertown, Lyon Mountain, Ellenburg, Chazy and West Chazy. He was a big Hank Williams fan and enjoyed Civil War History. He loved animals especially his Dog Molly.

Father Ted is survived by his sister, Tammy Crosby of Phelps; aunts, Barbara Maslyn of Clifton Springs, Joanne Maslyn of Farmington, Betty Gordner of Seneca Castle and Jane Crosby of Geneva; many cousins also survive him.
