MORRISONVILLE, Frances S. Zehr, 84, of Hendrix Road, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility. She was born in Normal, IL on March 11, 1930, the daughter of Chester A. and June (Parret) Coan. Frances married Carl A. Zehr on December 21, 1957 in Evanston, IL. She attended and received her Bachelor's Degree from Illinois State Normal University. Frances worked as a Journalist for several Publications throughout her life, and in her later years she did freelance work and occasionally worked on assignment. She received a first place National Award from the National Federation of Press Women for pages edited by a women. Frances enjoyed traveling and hiking with her husband Carl. They took many trips and visited many locations around the world including Europe, Asia, and Africa. Survivors include her husband, Carl of Morrisonville; one son, Paul Zehr and his wife, Mary of Ben Lomond, CA; one daughter, Laura Zehr of NC and four grandchildren, Ryan Zehr, Sam Zehr, Sawyer Zehr and Chloe Zehr. She was predeceased by her parents. There will be no public calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held on July 9, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the First Presbyterian Church in Plattsburgh.
