CADYVILLE – Mr. Francis Joseph Rabideau, 87, formerly of Cadyville, NY (Lenoir, NC), graduated to glory from Blue Ridge UNC Healthcare – Morganton, NC on March 20, 2021.

He was born on May 27, 1933 in Clinton County, NY to John Rabideau and Gladis Brooks Rabideau.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rita Mae Smart Rabideau; daughter, Connie L. Roberts; and eight siblings.

He was an amazing father, faithful Christian, and an active member of Temple Baptist Church in Lenoir. He was a correctional officer for thirty-five years at Dannemora Correctional Facility.

He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War and received a Purple Heart.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Scott F. Rabideau (Lisa); Todd F. Rabideau (Shari); daughters, Tracie L. Patnode (Michael); Brandie L. Cross (Andrew); sister, Marie Drollette (Gary); son-in-law, Kim W. Roberts; eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to The Bible Publishing Ministry of Seedline in care of Temple Baptist Church at 1306 Old North Road, Lenoir, NC 28645.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. Military honors will follow. Burial will take place at a later date in the Cadyville Protestant Cemetery.
