WEST CHAZY – Gary Glenn Parrott of West Chazy, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, after a recent battle with leukemia.  He was born on March 12, 1947, to Glenn and Fern Coakley Parrott.  He graduated from Mooers High School in 1965 and earned a degree from Albany Business College.  He began his career with New York State Parks & Recreation as a park ranger and eventually became a manager of several parks in the area, retiring in 2003.

An avid sportsman, Gary spent a great deal of time hunting and fishing.  After his retirement, he enjoyed driving his truck and his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, his early-morning breakfast at local eateries, and spending the winter in Myrtle Beach.  He was active with the Sons of the American Legion in Rouses Point.  Time spent with his friends and family sharing a meal and a story gave him the greatest joy.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lafave Parrott; three daughters: Lori Lafave, Tanya Parrott, and Leslie Parrott; a son-in-law, Steve Murphy; five grandchildren: Deirdre (and Ryan) Ramsey, Eugene (and Amanda Theriot) Murphy, Cian Murphy, Ceara Murphy, and Ethan Parrott; three great grandchildren: Colten Murphy, Erin Ramsey, and Liam Ramsey; brothers- and sister-in-law Ken Lafave, Ron Lafave and Peg Dora; several nieces and nephews; maternal cousin Marcia LaPlante and several paternal cousins, including Carol Mooso, Brenda Moussaw, and Pam Esposito.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 26 ^th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel.
