PLATTSBURGH – Gary J. Walker passed away at CVPH Medical Center on November 5, 2024.

He was born February 27, 1947 and raised in Plattsburgh and always cared about his community. He took being an Alderman seriously and always sided with what was best for the whole community. He even ran for mayor once.

Gary was a proud Combat Marine Corp Veteran who served in the Vietnam War.

Gary's journeys included part ownership in the D&H Restaurant, Alderman for the City of Plattsburgh-Ward 2, hiking and love of music and Dobermans.  Gary owned his own contracting business and took great pride in all his work and building. Gary loved to make people laugh, and sometimes never shy of being a jokester to see people smile.

He is survived by his companion of over 25 years Angela Hahn. He was predeceased by his brothers Ross Walker and Howard Walker and ex-wife Eileen Rice Bartlett.

A heartfelt Thank You to the staff at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh who are to be commended for their compassion and care given to Gary.

There will be no services at his request. "Yours was a life well spent!"
