MORRISONVILLE - Genevieve D. Hayes, 91, formerly of Rand Hill Road, passed away, January 27, 2020 at Meadowbrook Healthcare.

She was born in Riverview, NY on November 18, 1928 the daughter of John and Florence (Collins) Corrow.

Genevieve married Malcolm W. Hayes on June 3, 1950 in Morrisonville. Malcolm passed away on May 31, 1980.

She worked as a machinist at the Aranac Ribbon Mill in Plattsburgh and then went to work at the Clinton County Jail as a Matron where she retired following many years of service. Genevieve continued to provide daycare to many children, and was proud to be a foster parent.

She was a member of the American Legion Post 20 and VFW Post 125 in Plattsburgh

Survivors include her four children, Bill Hayes and his wife Susan, Terry Hayes and his wife Linda, Starr Baker and her husband Dennis, and Lynn Hayes and his companion Kim Brewer; foster daughter, Michelle Hetifield and her husband John; brother, Doug Corrow and his wife Julie; grandchildren, Jennifer, Brandon, Jamie, Brittney, Jared, Brett, and Caleigh; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Genevieve was predeceased by her husband; one son, Jerry Hayes; and four siblings, Gloria, John, Bernard, and Clayton.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville.

Burial will be the parish cemetery in the spring.
